BORN in Pietermaritbzurg but now based in Durban, singer and songwriter, Tshiamo Dube, who goes by the name of Tsitsi, has released her brand new single, titled Soar.

At only 13, this young musician with a sweet, mellow and strong voice is making her mark in the music industry.

Soar follows the release of her first song ,What About Us and is consolation and encouragement for people to find and celebrate themselves even though they may have disappointed those they love.

“There is so much pressure to be perfect, to please people, Soar is a reminder that things will work out and we will soar and rise above and beyond the expectations of others.

“It is a song about overcoming and being a better version of yourself — I want young boys and girls to feel encouraged and know they are enough”, said Tsitsi.

Tsitsi is not only a good singer and songwriter, she also plays the guitar and is part of a Marimba band.

Having performed at a number of events in and around Durban, Tsitsi is confident that her contribution to the music industry will inspire young people to work hard at achieving their dreams and bettering the world.

With a burning desire and passion to “bend the world” through her music, she is passionate about storytelling and uses her voice as an instrument to inspire people, telling stories that they can relate and learn from.

She firmly believes that the new generation can better its society, beginning with small acts of kindness that will eventually “Bend the World” so that it can become better.

Soar is the perfect pop song, infused with her mellow and emotive voice and an up-tempo beat. It is the song you want to drive to, relax at home to, or dance to at a party.

Inspired by the likes of Mariechan, Dua Lipa, Alessia Cara and her wonderful family, Tsitsi also seeks to educate young people about the power of investing in the future, financial responsibility, and the relentless pursuit of dreams.

“I’ve always had an appreciation for music and the way that it can make you feel, the magical experience you can acquire from listening to an emotional song is amazing. This is the special connection that I want to share with everyone through music”.

Her passionate connection with music sparked in 2008 when she was gifted her first guitar. From that moment she had fallen in love with music and has been dedicated to building herself up musically.

Soar is available for download on iTunes and Spotify. Interact with Tsitsi on social media
