THE importance of the early years of education cannot be underestimated.

These years set the tone, develop the attitude and lay the foundation for the success of life-long learning.

Situated within the main school campus, The Wykeham Collegiate (TWC) Pre-Primary area consists of beautifully equipped classrooms and a garden area exclusively for their use. Here they follow a child-centred curriculum where play-based learning promotes the development of social, emotional and intellectual skills.

Creative activities (painting, puzzles, etc.), fantasy play and exploring the outdoor and playground equipment as well as drama, music, PE and Psychomotor lessons provide opportunities to grow, explore and discover.

All activities in the Grade RRR to R area promote the complete development of the child: socially, emotionally and intellectually.

Daily routines are age appropriate and through them girls acquire the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to maximise the opportunities afforded in the formal learning years.

TWC strives to provide a safe environment in which children are encouraged to take risks, thereby learning more about themselves, each other and the world around them.

The uniqueness of each child is recognised and celebrated, giving our girls a Truly Wonderful Childhood.
