SPCA receives generous donation

HAPPY Hampers Gift Service and Pick n Pay in Victoria Road participated in a joint venture on Valentine’s Day, the proceeds of which were donated to the PMB SPCA.

Natalie Palmer of Happy Hampers Gift Service sold chocolates and trinkets at Pick n Pay in the weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day.

The sale was successful and Palmer and Pick n Pay branch manager Conrad Thatcher managed to donate R4 000 to the SPCA.

At the handover, Thatcher said that he was thrilled to be able to help the SPCA, which is in much need of extra funding at the moment.

“Our charity drive at the store was very successful and we were happy to help out,” he said.

Accepting the cheque at the SPCA was manager Ronnie Yoeman who was overjoyed about the donation.

“It’s so amazing to have people like this in the community who still care about the animals and want to donate to us.

“Right now, every cent helps and we are very grateful to Natalie and Conrad for the gesture,” she said.

The SPCA is open to the public to visit and look at the work it does or to volunteer time if possible.

The Bargain Barn is still under renovation and Yoeman said that people are welcome to donate any items that are in good condition which can be sold at the Bargain Barn to generate income for the SPCA.
