IN the spirit of Lexus’s brand mantra - the pursuit of perfection - three models in the range receive updates and improvements to their standard specification, in order to provide greater comfort, convenience, style and performance.

Next level features for NX

Lexus’ enigmatic Sports SUV; the NX, receives a subtle boost to its already comprehensive spec level with the addition of a wireless cell phone charger for all three grades (E, EX and F Sport). Utilising Qi technology, a compatible smartphone can be recharged wirelessly by placing the device on the charge pad, providing enhanced convenience for passengers.

The dynamic, range topping F Sport model receives Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) that also includes Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA). RCTA utilises the Park Distance Control and BSM sensors to audibly and visually warn the driver of an approaching vehicle, when reversing from a parking space.

Turbo propulsion for RC

The svelte RC Sports Coupé now plays host to the acclaimed 2 litre turbocharged engine recently introduced in the IS sedan range. Outstanding refinement, a broad torque spread and great efficiency are some of the hallmarks of the twin-scroll turbocharged direct injection engine.

The technologically laden “mill” provides 180 kW and 350 Nm, delivered to the rear wheels via a slick shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. Badged as the RC 200t and offered in EX grade, the new model continues to offer the same exemplary specification level you’ve come to expect from Lexus.

Keyless entry, LED headlamps, Seat heating and cooling, Satellite Navigation and a reverse camera make up just some of the standard features.

For customers seeking a traditional V6 engined alternative, the RC 350 F Sport combines the sonorous 233 kW 3.5 litre V6 engine with the dynamic F Sport grade package including striking bi-tone 19” alloy wheels, to create a vehicle that exudes a sporty yet sophisticated image.

Racy Orange hued brake calipers and a revised rear diffuser incorporating redesigned exhaust tailpipes, add to the dynamic character of the F Sport model.

Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) fitted to the F Sport, interfaces with the Drive Mode Select function and Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS) system to allow the driver to tailor the vehicle’s characteristics in accordance with their mood or road conditions. This all culminates in a highly rewarding driving experience.

Enhanced multimedia for LS

The range topping LS luxury sedan is the final model in the trilogy to receive an update to its already very comprehensive list of features.

The multimedia system has undergone an overhaul, with functionality, ease-of-use and display improvements. Utilising a centrally mounted 31cm thin film transistor display screen, the system allows front occupants to call up a variety of information.

The multimedia system is accessed via Lexus’s signature remote touch interface, with usage improvements in the form of dual sided “enter” buttons in addition to a “back” feature.

A new standout feature; is the ability to display the satellite navigation map across the entire width of the screen, with the option to switch to a 20cm sectioned display, to allow two sets of information on the screen simultaneously, should the driver prefer.

The powertrain remains as before, in the shape of the whisper quiet and refined 4.6 litre V8 petrol engine, producing 285 kW of power and a generous 493 Nm of torque. - Supplied.
