COLOURFUL and vibrant artwork surrounded a classroom at St Christopher’s School on Thursday as the school held a special viewing of the children’s art for their grandparents to see their talent.

The most special fact about these marvellous works of art is that most of the children who completed them have been hampered in their learning abilities due to disabilities, but this has not stopped them.

“When you look at our school from the outside you think it is normal school but when you see our children and what they have done, you begin to understand just how special their work is and what they have done,” said school deputy principal Mrs John.

John said that some of the children were unable to use their hands but they did not exclude them from participating and many of teachers helped the youngsters complete their work.

Situated on Pine Street and operating as a government school, St Christopher’s welcomes any child with physical or learning disabilities and nurtures the child to a point where they are ready for either a trade school or high school.

John said she had an incredible staff who ensure that the children receive the best attention to help them grow.

“Every day I drive to school I thank God that I get the opportunity to teach these lovely children,” she said.
