Stick to your ambitions

2015-12-23 06:00

CHRISTMAS is a time for giving and sharing. It is about sharing treasure, time, talent and love and is also a time of happiness and joy.

There is no bigger reward than giving and sharing with others. This is a secret to a happy and fulfilling life. Our hard-working football officials from UMgungundlovu football associations get a free spa and massage after a trying 2015. They also received wall posters “Working Together We Can Do More”.

Football club owners from this district are awarded tenders in their speciality fields by their municipalities. Guys like Malombo Ngcongo contribute to the lives of young boys and girls in this district. The little they get from their place of employment is shared with the poor from townships and rural areas.

Politicians controlling budgets want to see changes in the lives of their voters.

Ladies in the Safa-UMgungundlovu office get shopping vouchers for clothing, compliments of Ematsheni, Retief Street. They have been very professional in their work since the season started.

Ray Khanyile, my friend and colleague at Izichwe, gets a scholarship to attend a anger management course with Malombo Ngcongo, for a year in a prestigious college at Ndwedwe.

Dave Evans, grounds manager at UKZN gets a book, “How to say no to requests”. This guy is one of the nicest humans around. He goes out of his way to ensure that others are happy. I hope this book will help him to balance things.

Bonginkosi Madlala, head of schools football in this district, gets a lifetime free entry to all schools’ football competitions. This is in recognition for his services to school sports.

Young footballers in this district also get books – “What it takes to become a top professional”. The book illustrates things like learning to embrace pain, making sacrifices in terms of training, diet, recovery, developing growth mind-set.

Festive season is a period when current alcoholics experiment with their first drinks. We advise that people should stick to what will help them realise their ambitions.
