AFTER being remanded in custody for seven days since last Wednesday, Ryan and Riley Reddy as well as Roxanne and her husband Karl Naicker will appear in court today on charges of attempted murder after they were allegedly caught on camera assaulting Yashveer Kesari after a scuffle broke out outside of a shop on Khan Road, in Allandale.

The four accused appeared briefly in court where they were denied bail by the magistrate after state prosecutor Sally Singh highlighted the seriousness of the crime.

Advocate Mergan Chetty said that his clients should have been granted bail given that they had handed themselves over to the police and that they were not a flight risk due to all four of them having a fixed address.

Maritzburg Fever first reported the story on March 27, titled “Justice for Yashy” after receiving videos showing Kesari first assaulting a man outside believed to be Riley, after Kesari accused him of almost knocking him over in the first video.

In the second video we see four people believed to be Riley and his three other family members going into the shop and assaulting Kesari until he passes out.

Family members say that Kesari is still in a critical condition but say that he is showing signs of positive recovery.

The four accused will appear today in court.
