THE Aquarius Swimming Club in association with Hugo’s Panel Beaters will be hosting a swim challenge on January 25 at the Olympic Swimming Pool in Newholme Way with all funds collected on the day going towards assisting in the upgrade of the pool.

Beginning from 5 pm to 10 pm, the challenge will see various swimmers take on the 500 m and 1 000 m categories.

“As a swimmer completes their swim the next swimmer must take to the water. Swimmers must provide a lap scorer who will allocate a lane while each swimmer will be allocated a timekeeper/lap scorer,” said swimming coach Willie Williams.

Williams said that entries are limited to the first 100 entrants and that each swimmer will receive a medal and a certificate on completion of their swim.

“Come and challenge yourself or your family and friends and assist in improving our swimming facility in the process,” urged Williams.

The entry fee stood at R60 per swimmer until Wednesday, January 23 while late entrants will have to pay R80.

Spectators are welcome to attend at R10 per person and are welcomed to braai on the premises. No alcohol allowed.
