Table tennis club brings home the glory

DUSI table tennis players excelled at the eThekwini Open Tournament in Chatsworth over the weekend, bringing home seven medals altogether, including two gold, two silver and two bronze.

Taking place at the Chatsworth Youth Centre, the tournament attracted a large crowd of table tennis players with the Dusi Table Tennis Club standing out as one of the top acts of the event.

Himesh Pillay won the U13 boys singles while Kesston Anamalay won the bronze medal. Shavishka Ramlingam won the U13 girls singles and Kivesh Sivnarain took gold for the U18 boys singles while also taking the silver medal in the men’s singles. Club coach Morgan Govindasamy won the silver in the veterans category with Anwar Osman taking the bronze.

“I am very happy with the performance of our players, it is evident that their hard work is paying off,” said Govindasamy.
