MUSIC has the ability to make us smile, cry, sing and dance, and most importantly, it can help us make sense of our feelings when we’re in love.

When it comes to love, age has no limits, as veteran entertainer Colin Penn proves in his latest show, May I Be Your Valentine? which is being staged in Pietermaritzburg and Howick this week.

The Durban-based singer said: “There are so many songs in the show that I’m sure that your special love song will feature on my programme.

“If you have a partner, come along and hold hands. If not, come with me and we’ll sing our way down memory lane. There’s more than enough love for all.”

On the programme are iconic tunes like Lavender Blue, Venus, You Are My Lucky Star, I’ll Be Loving You Always, Someone To Watch Over Me, Some Enchanted Evening, Have I Told You Lately That I Love You, On The Street Where You Live, Can’t Help Falling In Love and Love Me Tender.

The Howick concert will take place at 10 am on February 14 at the Oasis Church, 70 Main Road. Tickets are R70, including tea, coffee and biscuits. To book, phone Barbara at 072 147 8409 or 031 564 5135.

In Pietermaritzburg, music fans can enjoy May I Be Your Valentine? at 2 pm on February 17 at St John’s Diocesan School for Girls in New England Road. Tickets are R50. To book, phone Barbara at 031 564 5135 or 072 147 8409.
