Team Game swim for charity

2017-02-22 06:03

SINCE 2003, every kick and stroke by the Game swimming team has helped to raise over R2,3 million for charity. This year was no different as 89 Game team members plunged into the deep for a charitable cause.

For the past 15 years, Game has donated R1 000 to the Community Chest for every Team Game swimmer that has crossed the Midmar Mile finishing line. Following this year’s swim, Game donated R89 000 to Community Chest. As a result of its unwavering support for charity, Game has been awarded Community Chest’s Top Corporate Donor award for five consecutive years.

Game’s brand and marketing director Mark Turner said: “The Midmar Mile has always been a very special event to us. It is the epitome of dedication, selflessness and self-sacrifice. It also facilitates team spirit and cohesion and encourages team work.

“Seeing Game team members challenge themselves for the sole purpose of raising funds for charity is truly motivating and inspiring.

“The R89 000 raised from this initiative will be donated to the Community Chest, a non-profit organisation that does a does a remarkable job of providing support to over 60 welfare and development organisations in and around Durban.”
