The non-existence of a creator

ASA Ameen’s letter in the Fever of 31 August refers.

The original question posed by Robert Nicolai remains unanswered in spite of the writer’s heavily conjectured explanations, which raise more questions rather than providing reasoned answers. For example, why did the creator create the HIV virus knowing it would destroy rather than sustain life? Also, why must the question be “who” is the creator? Alternative, “what” is the creator?

Evolution postulates that “creation” itself creates - life comes from life. He partially answers the question by stating that “human beings evolved from other creatures, or that there was a Big Bang” - and nature took its course.

Believers from the Abrahamic Belief Systems are told to believe the creationists theory, which is impossible to prove since it relies on “revelation” that cannot be verified.

In fact, the three versions conflict each other in many respects. Just as a judge will not consider hearsay or contradictions as evidence, so too should humans, endowed with reasoning powers, treat such claims made in antiquity, and in most cases in defiance of common logic, treat such claims with suspicion.

Unfortunately, the popularised belief systems of our times enforce blind belief in order to sustain their respective religions, and the acceptance of dogmas is the prerequisite to be accepted into the flock.

Believers are taught to justify, and not question the beliefs, even if they can “see” the contradictions or the ridiculousness in them.

Granted, man’s limitations cannot match the wonder of “creation”, but to attribute that creation to a human-like male without anything to substantiate the claim is disingenuous in the extreme.

For more than 2000 years not a single human has seen and/or met the so-called creator; so therefore the creator is a mere creation of human minds through the ages.

On the other hand, concurrences being advanced by evolutionary scientists far outweigh the creationists theories “revealed” to a select few in a bygone era.
