THREE people were injured on Monday when a taxi rear-ended another on the N3 northbound highway near the Ashburton turn-off.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 8am to find both taxis in the centre median of the highway. Passengers and drivers from both taxis were found walking around at the scene.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two women, one of them pregnant, and one man had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. No serious injuries or fatalities were found.

Paramedics treated the patients and transported them to Mediclinic Pietermaritzburg and Northdale Provincial Hospital.

Both drivers were assessed and found to have escaped injury.
