Three pupils hospitalised after collision

2017-12-13 06:02

THREE schoolgirls were injured on Thursday afternoon, one of them critically, after being hit by a car while walking home in Essenwood Drive in Panorama Gardens.

ER24 paramedics, along with another service, arrived on the scene and found that a car had left the road, collided with them and crashed through a residence wall.

Paramedics found the three on the side of the road.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that one was in a critical condition - the two others had sustained moderate injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured girl was provided with advanced life support interventions. The patients were transported to nearby provincial hospitals for further care.

The driver of the car was apparently not found on the scene.

Local authorities will be investigating this matter further.
