Top tennis played at Hilton

2018-07-25 06:01

SIXTY players participated in a most successful tennis tournament at Hilton Tennis Club last Sunday.

Players came from all parts of KwaZulu-Natal and the standard of play was very high. In fact, the entries filled up so quickly that many of the local players were too late to enter.

This was the first tournament to be held since Hilton Tennis Club had been rebuilt after the fire in April this year, and it was also the first tournament since Lotto had resurfaced the courts.

As well as the new club facilities and the brand new courts, the event was blessed with glorious sunshine the whole day…. and it was a long day with play starting at 8.30 am and finishing at 5 pm.

The Hilton Quarry Spar generously sponsored the tournament, providing hampers as prizes as well as providing the delicious lunch comprising lasagne, salads and rolls.

Wedgewood Nougat also sponsored prizes as well as an array of Angel biscuits during the day, and spoiling players with a variety of chocolate nougat for after lunch.
