Treasonous to pretend nothing has happened

2018-12-12 06:00

AT some time the ANC as the governing party must appear before the Zondo Commission and take full responsibility for aiding and abetting state capture.

Former president Jacob Zuma was not alone in the alleged state capture. The many billions siphoned from state coffers would not have happened if the ANC had played its oversight role.

The former top six defended the former president. The structures from Parliament down to branch level were told to defend the revolution. The spin doctoring was in overdrive, making a media hype of the scandals surrounding the wholesale looting.

The current president and former secretary-general now current chairperson, must take responsibility for plunging the country into a downward slide. The party was not defending the revolution but defending the corrupt.

In KZN, it was the ANC attacking members of the ANC who dared to speak out. Such matters cannot be swept away to keep a few in power and public office. The trust of the public has been abused.

The ANC cannot go into an election without accepting its wrongs.

It would be treasonous to remain quiet and pretend as if normality has returned.
