FASHIONISTAS and horse-racing pundits alike flocked to this year’s Tsogo Sun Sprint held at the Golden Horse Casino to try to win big and to enjoy the colourful outfits worn by the beautiful models who displayed them.

With the theme “Saddled in Silk”, the event drew in large crowds of people who were kept well entertained throughout the day with various fashion contests taking place while jockeys rode their horses competing with one another for first place.

Valerie Baxter, a former employee of the race course, said that it was her first year attending the show as a spectator since her retirement and she said she was pleasantly surprised at just how well the event went.

“All the models look so beautiful and dashing, while the horse racing never fails to get the crowd riled up as they fight to win,” said Baxter.

This year’s main race yielded winnings to the amount of one million rand.
