THE launch of the production, Ubuntu Nest - The Musical at the Golden Horse Casino on Sunday was hailed, this according to Makhubalo Ikaneng who conceptualised the production.

“The cast and the near-capacity audience that came to see us were excited to see the spectacle we have been working on for the past eight weeks,” Ikaneng said.

The cast and crew came up with a “Spread Ubuntu Paint” initiative, which identified Thandazile Nzuza (88), as a beneficiary and a much-needed paint job of her house was completed by the cast, crew and Nzuza’s neighbours a week before the show.

Nzuza was meant to attend the show on Sunday, however, due to ill health, she could not.

“Please join us in prayer for Gogo Nzuza who could not make it to the show because of ill health.

“May she get well soon. Kindly help us get the message to the broader community of Pietermaritzburg to assist her.

“As we have always said, the musical is our way of drawing attention to ourselves so we can deflect it to those in need,” Ikaneng said.

In every city the production
travels to its initiative will identify a beneficiary and spread ubuntu through a charitable act of painting their home.
