THE 11th annual Ugu Jazz Festival has given a platform to artists in Ugu District Municipality to showcase their talent.

Auditions were held within the Ugu District municipalities - including Umdoni, Umuziwabantu, Umzumbe and Ray Nkonyeni - with Afro-pop, Afro-Jazz, jazz and poetry as genres of choice.

Selected artists will have an hour at the main event on June 24 at Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre to prove themselves.

The festival spearheads tourism transformation and local economic development through music and the arts.

On day one patrons look forward to performances by Jimmy Dludlu, Ringo Madlingozi, Amanda Black, Sjava, Zakes Bantwini, Mbuso Khoza, Naima K, Sands, Thee Legacy, Mondli Ngcobo, Brenda Mtambo, Afro soul, Disebo, Umkhumbane Jazz club, Heels Overhead, Tender Mavundla and more.

Limited parking tickets are now available at Computicket nationwide - R150 - R200 for early bird tickets, Golden Circle - R350 and VIP for R1200.
