MORE than 20 children from Mountain Rise Primary School who come from disadvantaged backgrounds, received school uniforms from Eyentuthuko non-governmental organisation which is based in Msunduzi’s KwaPata area on Thursday, February 14.

The NGO was formed in 2006 with the view to help children with challenges ranging from learning difficulties to social problems.

In doing so, the organisation hopes to create a balance between rich and poor children and eventually make them feel equal.

The founder of the NGO, Thembisile Khuzwayo, said that she received assistance with school uniforms from Herbalife and her colleagues at uMgungundlovu District Municipality.

She pleaded with all local residents and business people to assist with donating uniforms.

“We want to boost every child’s confidence at an early age and make sure that they excel on subjects like maths and science. Our assistance is also directed at helping children with learning difficulties,” said Khuzwayo.

The school principal, Mr Soobryan Vasu, thanked the NGO for lending a helping hand.

“This will definitely change recipient’s lives, our kids will no longer see themselves as different from other children,” said Vasu who concluded by saying the school doors are always open to anyone who wants to help improve the lives of children.

The NGO will soon visit Khethindlelenhle Primary, Inzuzwenhle Primary, Bongudunga Secondary and KwaPata Secondary.

Nelisiwe Nyoka from Herbalife encouraged children to live a healthy lifestyle by ensuring that they eat lots of vegetables and exercise regularly.
