Varsity cricketers scoop multiple KZN awards

THE Varsity Cricket Club heralded in a clean sweep of awards, winning most of the awards up for grabs at the annual KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Inland Awards on Friday.

The Varsity Cricket Club were recipients in the following categories:

• Premier T20 Winners

• Division One T20 Winners

• Division One League Winners

• Division Three League Winners

• Akhil Bharath: U11 Northdale Hub Player of the Year

• Josh Van Eeden: KZN Inland Academy Batsmen of the Year

• Mathew Luksich: KZN Inland Academy Bowler of the Year

The following players from the Varsity Cricket Club were awarded for representing KZN Inland Senior Men’s for the 2018/19 season:

• Athi Maposa

• Nduduzo Mfoza

• Josh Van Eeden

• Sthabiso Zungu

“Well done to all our teams, management, coaches, executive committee members and supporters,”

“We will continue moving in the right direction, making our junior structure the focal point moving forward. We will continue to support young cricketers through the pipeline and be a feeder to our own KZN system,” said Coaching Manager at KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union, Yashveer Singh.
