Well done to new majors

2016-03-09 06:00

I AM ecstatic to learn of the recent promotions of many of my erstwhile colleagues and friends to the rank of major. Attaining the rank of major in the SAPS is the beginning of senior officer status. Many have waited for over 20 years to attain this rank.

These men are experienced, diligent and au fait with police duties and have all served faithfully. They have dedicated their lives to serving the police and their country. I am certain that they will continue to be an invaluable asset to the police and SA.

Officers, kindly continue to work with the same zeal, diligence and valour with which you served in your previous ranks. Endeavour to improve the present poor image of the police.

The officers concerned are majors Maharaj (Giles), S.V. Govender, Van Roos, D.V. Pillay and Khandai.

Congratulations to the others on attaining senior officer status too. You have done us proud.

Thank you gentlemen - Servamus et Servimus - Continue to Protect and Serve.
