SHOCKWAVE Therapy or Acoustic Wave Therapy is a clinically proven treatment for body contouring and body shaping.

Shockwave Therapy, also known as Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), is the delivery of acoustic waves into the body, creating vibrations in the soft tissues. At Duzimed Advanced Cosmetic Laser Clinic we use the X-Wave device which is FDA approved.

Acoustic waves are strong, non-focused pulses of sound which generate vibration. When acoustic waves are directed at problem areas of the skin or tissue, they produce a wide range of positive physiological responses within the body. These changes can lead to improved smoothness, texture, elasticity, and tightening of the skin.

Shockwave Therapy works by using the power of targeted vibrations physically breaking down fat, increasing lymphatic drainage and collagen production.

Mechanical vibrations enhance microcirculation and oxygen supply in affected area resulting in increased blood supply and removal of excess interstitial fluid. The Shockwaves mechanically stimulates the lymphatic system, helping to transport waste, trapped fluid and fat away from the area.

The acoustic pulses increase fibroblast activity in the area, this leads to the remodelling and production of new collagen fibres for tighter, smoother skin.

Many clients who undergo our non-surgical fat reduction treatments chose to combine their treatments with Shockwave therapy. There are excellent clinical results demonstrating the benefits of combining the Shockwave procedure with other body shaping treatments that could enhance and accelerate results.

For best results we recommend courses of eight – ten treatments of Shockwave Therapy.
