PHILANTHROPIST and ambassador for Women Holistically Interacting to Empower (White), Scottsville resident Nazneen Moolla, who embarked on her White journey a year ago after becoming the first ever ambassador of it’s kind, is urging young women all over to follow in her footsteps.

“Growing up I never knew what I wanted to be but I always knew the kind of women I wanted to be, which is an inspiration to all others.”

“Winning the title of White enabled me to be just that. Being the ambassador for a women empowerment campaign awarded me the opportunity to reach communities and to positively infiltrate the minds of young women,” said Moolla, who added that the search for the next ambassador is now on and those wanting to make a difference in their community by reaching out, empowering, motivating and supporting the betterment of their community should enter.

Moolla said that in a society so heavily dependent on likes on social media, with the pressure for women to constantly impress people, she wants young women to embrace the uniqueness that they were born with.

“We have been told that we must live by a certain mould, but I think it is time we broke that mould. While saying this I still maintain my self-respect,” she said.

Some of Moolla’s highlights during her journey as an ambassador for White include; being a mentor to primary school pupils at local schools, participating in mother’s day initiatives, special guest appearances at various event and being involved in charity organisations.

The founder of White and title holders are scouting for the 2019 ambassadors.

If you want to follow in Moolla’s footsteps and have a chance to make a difference in your community, e-mail a motivational letter stating why you feel you should be chosen as an ambassador to karellm20special@gmail.com — entries need to include two photographs (one full length and one shoulder length).

“My message to young girls is to know their worth; to know they are enough without having to change. I want to remind women that we are diamonds, and no one can break us. We need to be our own kind of beautiful,” said Moolla.
