SUCCESSFUL Mindset Strategies will host an event called Summer Soiree at the Pietermaritzburg Golf Club on November 9.

According to the founder of the organisation, Shanta Maharaj Singh, they decided to host this event in an attempt to assist cancer patients.

“Often these types of events happen and the real purpose is forgotten. For this reason, we have asked a professional in the field of medicine and the founder of findinghealth.co.za to address cancer and the possibility of conventional and complimentary medicine working together to assist patients to live fulfilling lives and not see cancer as an immediate death sentence,” said Singh.

Furthermore, Singh said they plan to focus on one health issue per annum and to address this in an empowering way where there can be an exchange of ideas and opinions.

At the Summer Soiree there will be discussions on the caregiver and the financial implications for those without medical insurance.

Also, a financial adviser will touch on the importance of saving for a rainy day.

Dr Yunus Moosa of Finding Health will introduce the concept of conventional and complimentary medicine working hand in hand to ensure good health.

“Added to this, we will discuss home-based business enterprises as a way to ease the financial strain on families,” said Singh.

Also, there will be a craft and writing exercise on the topic of terminal illnesses, where the invited artist will speak on coping with the loss of a loved while painting on glass.

“We hope the painting on glass will bring in some money for Msunduzi Hospice as we plan to give R50 of each ticket sold to the Hospice,” said Singh.

Singh emphasised that the community will benefit through being educated about cancer and empowered from a different perspective at the event.

The organisation will provide attendees with high tea and goodies from Gift of the Givers. For more information on Summer Soiree, phone 072 494 8627.
