FROM attacking the ANC, calling President Jacob Zuma a “blesser” and calling for immediate land reform, these topics were the highlights of the speech given by Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) leader Julius Malema when he visited the Edendale Lay Ecumenical Centre on Sunday.
Malema’s right-wing man EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Quintin Ndlozi was there as well as Malema’s entourage which consisted of EFF national assembly members.
“We thank all the Pietermaritzburg citizens for their support … not those who smoke nyaope (an illegal drug),” said Malema.
Before the meeting started it was disrupted by ANC members. In his speech Malema said that the people who had disrupted the EFF meeting were old people with bellies and that they belonged to the ANC. Contrary to his statement, he threw shade at the ANC saying that the EFF membership is full of young people who are very strong revolutionaries.
“KZN is led by people who don’t know what democracy is. The ANC formed the EFF by abusing democracy,” said Malema.
He also added that the ANC national ministers are living a lavish lifestyle, especially president Zuma’s family claiming that they own a private jet that deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa once used for his business trip overseas.
“We thought it was the IFP members who killed other black people during the apartheid time, but it was not them. It was the ANC. If you disagree with the ANC leadership you will be killed without anyone knowing anything,” he said.
“Zuma is a ‘blesser’. You can tell by the number of wives he has. The next president of this country should only have one wife, not a whole basketball team,” said Malema.
“I would forgive Zuma for everything that he has done if he would say that all the land should be given back to the black people.
“We want our land back, including the dagga plantations. They are part of our land and the land was created by God, not by a white man,” said Malema.
Malema said the South African media is nothing but nonsense.
“It is controlled by white people. South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) should change its name because it represents colonialism during apartheid,” said Malema.
