Zuma, the ‘Houdini president’

2016-01-27 06:00

JACOB Zuma will go down as the “Houdini president” as he seems to make colossal blunders (plunders?) and get away with it every time.

Nhlanhla Nene’s firing must be the worst decision made by a South African president.

It’s not every day that the “haves” take to the streets to voice their opinions.

Many understandably realise that soon they may be the “have nots” if Zuma is left to his own devices, as billions were lost on the JSE.

It was encouraging to see middle-class Africans joining the marches.

Unfortunately, the uneducated probably wouldn’t understand the grave repercussions to the economy and most elite Africans are so politically connected they wouldn’t dare step out against the ANC.

Perhaps the marches didn’t light up the streets, but social media was a raging fire, fanned by the winds of possible change as it was clear that the ANC had been dealt a blow and was stunned. Nothing could cover up this horrendous leadership error, yet none of Zuma’s carefully picked rank broke loose, showing how corrupt people can become when power and money are at stake.

The ANC labelled the movement racist because Zizi Kodwa saw one old South African flag at a march.

It would be fair then to say that because Zuma is clearly an incompetent leader, the entire ANC is unfit to lead our country.
