THEATRE and musical producer Jayson King is returning to The Boardwalk on May 29 and 30 with his new production, Jayson King’s Hit Express.

The producer of the highly acclaimed Great Pretenders 21st Anniversary Show has assembled a stellar cast of musicians and singers for the show.

It includes Gypsy Latino, a seven-piece flamenco group in the style of the Gypsy Kings, with lead singer Bruno Hernandez emanating the exact voice quality of the original gypsy singer, Nicolas Reyes. The lead guitar player, Deen Moss, is one of South Africa’s top flamenco specialists.

Music ensemble The Queens will perform and sing a string of love and fun songs from the 60s era right through to the present time, covering various genres including jazz, Randamp;B, contemporary and rock.

Jayson is also joined by The Groove Kings, a four-part harmony group in the true style of the Temptations, Earth Wind and Fire and The Jackson Five. They will bring to life the sound of modern pop bands like One Direction, Bruno Mars, and Justin Bieber.

Jayson will render songs in the style of Julio Iglesias, Engelbert Humperdink and Elvis Presley.

A newcomer to King’s production is Steve Ashley from Johannesburg. Ashley is a former member of the 60s group, the Staccattos, which was responsible for the hit “Cry to me”. He will bring the house to a standstill with renditions of songs made popular by Tom Jones.

“Jayson King’s Hit Express is a not-to-be-missed musical trip for all music lovers. Produced by one of South Africa’s foremost producers and entertainers who has been seen on SABC-TV several times by millions of viewers, this show promises an evening of first-class entertainment,” said Vuyiswa King, the entertainment manager at The Boardwalk.

There will be two shows; one on May 29 and another on May 30. Tickets are available at Computicket.
