Arms full of trophies for dancing Starz

FIVE dancers from the All Starz Academy - Acrobatic and Rhythmic Gymnastics and Dance came home with a bunch of trophies when they competed in the World Dance Masters competition in Croatia recently.

The girls were accompanied by coach Lorraine Tait, who said the competition was very tough. “The girls did extremely well though, and I am so proud of them.”

Proudly representing South Africa, the girls competed against 5 000 dancers from 28 countries. The competition had 14 international judges.

The girls received the following trophies:

. Siphesihle Ngqandu (10) - 1 x first place; 3 x second place; 1 third place

. Chloe van Rooyen (11) - 3 x second place; 1 x third place

. Gemma Oosthuizen (13) - 1 x first place; 1 x second place; 1 third place

. Anel Strauss (10) - 1 x first place; 1 x second place; 1 x third place


Mia Swart (13) - 1 x third place
