BAYWEALTH Management, a member of Stonehouse Capital has for the fifth year in a row, donated R15 000 to the Animal Anti-Cruelty League.
Linda-Louise Swain, public relations officer for the Animal Anti-Cruelty League said the money has enabled them to hold a full weekend spayathon.
“This will bring our figures up to 300 sterilisations. Made possible by the generosity and social responsibility of this caring company,” said Swain.
“We firmly believe that neglect, abandonment and cruelty are a direct result of overbreeding and with the exorbitant cost of sterilisation, this donation is not only a blessing to us, but to the many people who want to take the responsible action, but cannot afford to sterilise their pets,” she said.
According to her, buckets of puppies are surrendered daily, many of them already sick and starving.
“The Animal Anti-Cruelty League sincerely thanks BayWealth Management, a member of Stonehouse Capital and would like to challenge other companies to reach out and sponsor sterilisations, be it a mini-spayathon, full spayathon or individual sterilisations. Any given amount will make a difference to those who cannot speak for themselves,” said Swain.
