Paralympian Natalie du Toit at Cancer Survivor’s Day

2015-08-26 06:00

THE Langenhoven Drive Oncology Centre in Newton Park is hosting a Cancer Survivor’s Day event on August 29 at Father’s House Family Church in North End.

The event is a celebration of the lives of those patients who survived cancer and/or are still living with cancer.

It is also a day of remembrance of the lives of those who despite a brave struggle have succumbed to the disease.

Paralympian swimmer Natalie du Toit will be the motivational speaker at this event, which will be held from 9am to 12pm.

“We will also have a soft collection to support the Cancer Assist Trust of the Oncology Centre. This fund is tax exempt and used to support cancer patients in financial need who often struggle to pay for transport, food and even the necessary supportive medication,” Mariana Lourens, Oncology Social Worker, said.

Tickets are free but need to be pre-booked at the Langenhoven Drive Oncology Centre. For more info or bookings call Mariana Lourens 041 363 0581/041 450 6158.

Free coffee will be provided, but other refreshments are for sale
