PHIL Collins takes Centrestage as PE’s premier entertainment company announces its most ambitious show to date, ‘In the Air Tonight’, slated to run at the Boardwalk Amphitheatre in PE from October 14 to 17.

The role of the Genesis drummer will be played by ex-Eminent Child front-man Brad Peens and musical director Wayne Kallis respectively, backed by a 13-piece Centrestage band, with a four-piece brass sectioned modelled on Collins’ famous Paris live performances.

“Brad has matured immeasurably as a singer and his voice is a perfect tonal match for the softer edged Collins material, while Wayne tackles the rockier material with his usual aplomb,” said show originator Gary Hemmings.

Shawn Lyon heads up the brass section, with Marlon Louis and Kyle Du Preez on trombone, and the show introduces Andrea Morris on sax and vocals.

The ace keyboard duo of Fenlin Pitie and Deborah Everard will reunite, along with bass player Andrew Warneke and guitarist Arno Erasmus, with Tara-Jane Metzler back on vocals.

Songs such as ‘Easy Lover’, ‘You Can’t Hurry Love’, ‘You’ll Be in My Heart’, ‘Separate Lives’, ‘I Can’t Stop Loving You’, ‘Against All Odds’, ‘Groovy Kind of Love’ and ‘Another Day in Paradise’, amongst others, will be covered by Brad Peens.

Tickets for ‘Phil Collins: In the Air Tonight’ are R150 per person or R140 per person for eight or more and can be booked at Computicket or by calling Wendy on 082 661 6921.

Organizations interested in using the show to raise funds can call Jessica at Centrestage on 041 368 3093
