HUNDREDS of spectators were entertained by 28 schools during the Nelson Mandela Bay Marching Drill Round which was held at Gelvandale Stadium on Saturday.

The colourful scene, the beat of the drums and the fascinating demonstrations kept the spectators on their feet all day.

Members of SANDF, SAPS and the Gelvandale, Lentegeur and Mitchell’s Plain Community Policing Forums (CPFs) ensured that security was very tight.

Members of the army and the police force also served as the judges, who had a mammoth task as most schools performed excellently.

The participating primary schools from Nelson Mandela Bay were Helenvale, Lamani, Charles Duna, Alpha, WB Tshume, Melisizwe, Kama, Mboniselo, Khulile, Nxanelwimfundo, Samuel Nongogo and Elufefeni.
