Bay sides register emphatic victories

FOLLOWING the festive season break, four sides from the Nelson Mandela Bay region bagged three maximum league points during the ABC Motsepe League’s first games of the year.

Peace Makers showed that they were more than prepared for action when they drubbed the high-riding Bush Bucks 2-0 in their game that was played at Wolfson Stadium on Saturday.

PE Stars FC secured a comprehensive 4-1 away win when they locked horns with Birmingham City FC at North End Stadium in East London on Saturday.

Highbury FC, who were on top of their game, whacked Yakha United 4-0 at NMU South Campus Grounds in Summerstrand on Friday evening.

Hundreds of Sibanye FC home supporters saw their side hammering Matta Milan 3-0 at Adcock Stadium in Korsten on Friday evening.

Two Nelson Mandela Bay sides, Future Tigers and Swartkops Valley United Brothers (SUBS), were supposed to play their Friday home games against Mthatha Bucks at Rosedale Stadium in Uitenhage and The Guys at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium respectively, but the matches did not take place.

SAFA Eastern Cape provincial executive officer Isaac Klaas informed a PE Express reporter that he was awaiting the match official’s report.

Bizana Pondo Chiefs defeated Tornado 1-0 in their home game that was played at Mpeshwa Sports Field in Bizana on Saturday.

Amavarara FC were awarded three soft points over Butterworth for the game that was scheduled to be played at Dumpy Adams Stadium in Komani but did not take place.
