THE best motocross riders in South Africa will compete in the first round of the 2016 Monster Energy TRP Distributors SAMXN Championship, sanctioned by Motorsport South Africa (MSA), at Rover MX Club this Saturday.

Riders from all over South Africa and neighbouring countries such as Zimbabwe and Botswana will be participating.

Rover’s iconic sand track, rated the best in the country, is always a highlight on the race calendar for the competitors and spectators alike as it always guarantees to offer some nail biting and unpredictable racing.

The local favourites to look out for are Grant Hutton, Storm van den Heever and Keegan Hickson-Mahony.

Grant Hutton and Storm van den Heever will be competing against each other in the Pro Mini Class. Keegan will be competing in the 125cc High School class against an ex-Rover contender Seth van den Abeele.

Local 50cc favourite, Kyle Townsend, will also be out to make a name for himself in his first MSA National.

The day starts at 8am, with racing kicking off at 10am. There will be a lunchtime autograph session with some of the top national senior riders. Entry is R50 per adult and free for children 12 and younger.
