Big Walk for Cancer this Saturday

2017-11-01 06:01

PORT Elizabeth-based radio station Algoa FM will host its annual Big Walk for Cancer under the theme Walk as 1 as captured in the slogan; “we walk for family, we walk for fun, we walk as 1” this Saturday.

The 5km walk will start at 8am from the Lighthouses at the Boardwalk and end on the Festival Lawns at the Boardwalk.

All participants are encouraged to be at the Boardwalk before 7am as Marine Drive will be closed between La Roche and Admiralty from 7am to 10am.

The serious, yet fun initiative raises funds in support of the local cancer organisations that offer support to cancer sufferers and their families in the Eastern Cape.

Entries are still available online for R60.

Manual entries are also available at selected sports stores in Port Elizabeth and Uitenhage for R65.

Registration and late entries will take place on Friday at the Lighthouses at the Boardwalk from 1pm to 7pm.

One can also register to take part on the morning of the walk between 6am and 7am.
