Career day planned to help Northern areas learners

THE Bethesda Congregational Church in Port Elizabeth will be organising a career day to instil the value and importance of a formal education in the minds of learners.

The career day will take place on February 27 at the SM Arends hall at 10am.

The aim of this expo, run by the children’s unit of the church, is to assist learners to get their focus back to their schoolwork during the current education crisis in the Northern areas.

According to Charmaine Coetzee from the children’s unit at this church, the expo is the first of many steps that they will take to ensure that learners have all the help and support that they need to get them through school.

“We believe that this initiative will also help those learners who are currently not in school and who face the socio-economic challenges of our area on a daily basis,” said Coetzee.
