Chance for learners to design Kombi artwork

2017-06-28 06:01

TAVCOR Volkswagen is running a Design a Kombi competition where entrants are required to design the artwork for their Kombi Shuttle.

The competition is specifically aimed at junior and high school learners, but there is also an open category.

As Port Elizabeth is situated along the beautiful Nelson Mandela Bay coastline, the theme is “Design a Coastal Kombi”.

Once the design is completed, it must be handed in at the dealership by July 28. The entry form must be hand-drawn and only originals will be accepted.

The judges will announce the winning design on August 5 at the dealership. The design will be printed on a VW Kombi and used as the official Tavcor VW Kombi Service Shuttle.

Cash prizes adding up to a total of R11 000 are up for grabs.

The overall winner of the three categories will receive R3 500. If a learner wins, they will get R2 000 while the other R1 500 will go to the school.

The runner-up high school winner and the school they represent will each receive R1 500.

R3 000 will go to the runner-up junior school winner, half of which will go to the school, and the open category runner-up will receive R1 500.

“This competition is a wonderful opportunity for those living in Nelson Mandela Bay to showcase their artistic skills against each other and for their fine work to be showcased,” said Martin Taverner, general manager, new car sales, Tavcor Volkswagen.
