Christmas in the Park is back

2018-11-14 06:02

FOR the third consecutive year, the Mount Pleasant community will be hosting their annual Christmas in the Park and starting the festive season on a high note.

The family-friendly Christmas event doubles as community charity fundraiser and all donations and sponsorships will be donated to this year’s selected charities, namely, AACL Cleary Park, the Reeva Steenkamp Foundation and CANSA.

This year, Builders’ Warehouse has enabled the organisers to cut the ribbon on a newly donated live Christmas tree. Adults and children alike are promised a good time wandering around the stalls, playing on the jumping castles and enjoying the fire, spitbraai and Christmas music. Parents planning to attend are also asked to supply presents for their children before the event for Santa’s visit during the event.

Residents are invited to the Cancer Balloon event as well where they can sign a balloon in remembrance of someone or let a balloon into the sky.

There will be a raffle offering prizes such as a photoshoot worth R1 200 and a custom cake voucher, as well as an auction for a voucher for two nights at The Willows Hotel Resort.

Raffle tickets are R15 and bids for the auction can be made online at goo.gl/GGTcKS until 14:00 on November 24.

The community and local businesses are asked for their support in donating or sponsoring the event. Donations and sponsorships will be advertised on social media. Stalls are also still available at R200 each.

Christmas in the Park, Mount Pleasant, will take place at the park in Gladys Road on November 24 from 13:00 to 18:00. For more info visit the Christmas in the Park Mount Pleasant Facebook page or contact Ps Michael Hutchinson at 079 129 9889.
