MOTHERWELL-BASED semi-professional side Lion City were back to their winning ways when they punished FC Buffalo 5-0 during their ABC Motsepe League game at Motherwell NU 2 Stadium on Saturday.

City did not show mercy to the once-feared East London side, as they kept them on the back foot. Buffalo goalkeeper Nkuthalo Makapela was the busier of the two, while Zukisani Ngalo and Freedom Funani made things worse for Buffalo’s defence.

Ngalo broke the ice after he scored a spectacular goal. City increased the score to 2-0 following a top-notch goal that was scored by Zukisa Makgopa.

City went to the break leading the match 3-0 after Ngalo scored his second goal.

The visitors were outclassed in all aspects.

Funani penetrated between the defenders of the visiting side and finally dribbled past goalkeeper Makapela in order to score an easy goal. The late super substitute, Ludwe Sonjica, banged in his goal from his first touch to seal the victory, 5-0.
