PE COMETS Masters suffered the biggest defeat of the day when they were humiliated 91-27 by Gemineyez in their Nelson Mandela Metro Basketball Mayoral Cup at the Raymond Mhlaba Indoor Sports Complex on Sunday.

Masters struggled from the first quarter as they went down 25-5. Comets did not give up, although their opponents kept on increasing the score.

Gemineyez went to the second quarter leading 39-9. Comets trailed by 18-69 in the third quarter. The final score was 91-27 in favour of Gemineyez.

Earlier on, PE Comets Masters accumulated a well-deserved 56-38 victory when they faced Invaders.

Spartans thumbed New Brighton Knights 72-46 in their one-sided game.

Despite their 70-55 loss, PE Comets B gave up a good fight to Gemineyez.

Following their first encounter, Comets B seemed to be exhausted and suffered a huge 99-49 defeat to Expandables.
