DESPITE losing their Motherwell High Schools Sobantu Madlavu Rugby Knockout Competition game against James Jolobe High School, Colselani High School proved their critics wrong by making their opponents work hard for their 14-7 win.

The game was played at Motherwell NU 1 Stadium last Friday.

Coselelani High School applied intense pressure on their counterparts, who came to the game appearing to have underestimated their opponents.

The diminutive forwards of Coselelani High School were not scared of the big forwards of James Jolobe High School.

Before the sides went for the half-time break, James Jolobe High School broke the deadlock when their scrumhalf, Zukisa Hlalukana, scored the opening try.

Flyhalf Luvo Mdoda converted the try to give his school a 7-0 lead.

During the break Coselelani High School’s head coach Mthuthuzeli Yoyo gave his boys a pep talk.

Coselelani High School were rewarded with a beautiful try under the poles, which was scored and converted by skipper Asemahle Gube.

The game had to be finished in extra time after the 7-7 full-time draw. In the last half of the extra time, Mdoda scored and converted James Jolobe High School’s winning try, with the game ending with a score of 14-7.

In another game Vulumzi High School beat Motherwell High School 12-5.
