Dance studio to host annual fundraiser for Groom A Girl

2017-11-29 06:02

ZAHRA’S Oriental Dance Studio will be hosting their annual showcase fundraiser once again at Rowallan Park Primary School on December 2.

They will be joined by their sister studios, Beli-zimo in Knysna and Fariha Belly Dance Studio in George, in their performance of Bellies and the Beat.

This year’s chosen beneficiary of the event is the Groom A Girl initiative which aims at empowering young girls to make positive life choices through mentoring, educational activities, support systems and nurturing.

The relatively new initiative, which was first launched in April last year, is working toward the goal of opening a centre to uplift teenage girls.

Bellies and the Beat will take place in the Rowallan Park Primary School Hall on Saturday at 3pm.

There will also be a market for patrons to browse.

Tickets are R80 per person and bookings can be made at www.bellydancepe.co.za.
