DEKRA Automotive South Africa is further expanding its footprint in SA by opening a state-of-the-art vehicle test centre along William Moffett Expressway in Port Elizabeth.

On the road, at work and at home, millions of people around the world rely on Dekra’s safety expertise. This leading unlisted expert organisation is fulfilling its corporate mission of improving safety with impartiality and independence.

With a workforce of almost 37 000, Dekra is synonymous with innovative services in the safety segment in more than 50 countries across five continents.

The vision to be realised by Dekra’s centenary in 2025 is “Dekra becoming the global partner for a safe world”.

Dekra Automotive South Africa currently has 41 vehicle test centres nationally, employs some 380 staff and is the largest independent vehicle inspection centre in South Africa.

“We conduct 25 000 roadworthy inspections in South Africa on a monthly basis and we really pride ourselves on the fact that we are able to provide a quality inspection for both dealerships and the public. We are extremely proud that we are able to further expand our network in Port Elizabeth,” CEO Garth Johnson said.

“We see Port Elizabeth as an expansion area where we are able to apply our expertise and ensure that we place safer vehicles on South African roads and thus reduce fatalities. We are delighted that we are able to provide the motoring public in Port Elizabeth with the opportunity to have vehicles inspected prior to them purchasing a vehicle.”

“We have a state-of-the-art centre with highly trained staff who are capable of providing a unique service to the motoring public of Port Elizabeth. We have various products available from roadworthy inspection certificates, multipoint checks, safety checks and technical inspections.”

All these products are designed to ensure peace of mind for the motoring public when purchasing a vehicle.

“We currently have three vehicle test centres in Port Elizabeth, which is testimony to the fact that we see the importance of safe vehicles being placed on our roads. Dekra does not repair vehicles and in this way we are committed to ensuring that we offer an ‘independent’ inspection to motorists.

“We value our independence and in this way we believe that we can build the trust of the motoring public that they will receive a fair assessment of their motor vehicle. We have a zero-tolerance approach when it comes to fraud and corruption and this has been one of our main pillars in securing business from the motor dealerships,” Johnson said.
