DESERT Rose, widely regarded as leading composers, producers and performers of Universal World Music, will be performing on Saturday, May 28, at Art on Target at 2 Target Kloof, Essexvale from 7pm to 9pm as part of their South African tour.

Their performance is a multi-lingual and multicultural musical journey that draws on ancient world traditions and languages to create a unique musical experience.

Desert Rose was founded in 1999 by world music composer, Lynne Holmes. They are based in Cape Town and have produced 14 world music albums since 2005.

Yusuf Ganief and Lynne Holmes started performing in 2008 and are at the heart of Desert Rose, constantly exploring the creation and emergence of universal world music.

The music allows listeners to access their inner worlds and explore the boundless beauty, love and joy that reside within.

The composer uses her mastery of classical orchestration combining ancient sounds and rhythms with unique vocal expression of ancient traditions to create a new world music sound that has received standing ovations all over the world where it has been performed.

Desert Rose is committed to creating new works annually which merge a kaleidoscope of cultures with the innovative use of ancient languages that ultimately transforms into a language beyond words.
