) clubs EP Bonsai Society: Will have a meeting at the Sherwood Garden Centre in Walker Drive on Saturday, January 19 at 13:45 for 14:00. Take note of the date change for their monthly meeting for January only. Anyone with a tree they think may be suitable for bonsai is welcome to join the club members. There is free advice from senior growers on problem trees. Beginners and intermediate growers are all catered for. Non-members are welcome for a donation of R10, which includes refreshments. Birdlife EC: Will have an all-day outing to Swartkops estuary on Saturday, January 19. The target birds are great sandplover, terek sandpiper, white-winged tern and little tern. The spot is great for rare waders this time of year. Meet at the Pick n Pay car park on the corner of 4th Avenue and Cape Road, Newton Park at 06:00. Passengers’ share of the petrol money is R20. Household items, such as clothing, bric-a-brac, household goods, jewellery, books, linen and more would be greatly appreciated. The shop is located in the 9th Avenue Shopping Centre, Walmer. Animal Welfare Society (PE): The Wagtails Charity Shops in Walmer and Newton Park, on behalf of the Animal Welfare Society PE, are in need of support. Consider donating any unwanted/unused quality clothing, shoes, bric-a-brac and other household items. Furniture is also welcome. Collection can be arranged for large items. Sards Market In The Park: The first birthday edition of the outdoor farmers’ market will take place at Sards Bark Park in Sardinia Bay Road on January 26 from 09:00 to 14:00. Vendors will offer arts and crafts, fresh and organic foods and kids’ activities. There will also be PE food trucks, bubble soccer, live music and much more.
