Dino Expo roars into Walmer Park Shopping Centre

FOR the first time on the shores of Port Elizabeth, Walmer Park Shopping Centre will be going back millions of years to bring back the lost world with the highly acclaimed Dinosaur Expo.

The Dino Expo will take place every Friday to Sunday in the Basement Area parking outside entrance 2 (Nedbank entrance) from February 26 to April 10.

The Dino Expo will take place every day from March 28 to April 3 and will be closed on Good Friday, March 25.

The expo will take you back to the Triassic period with a display of skilfully handcrafted and life-like robotic dinosaurs, from the Legendary Tyrannosaurus Rex to the Saltasaurus and Triceratops, which are sure to amaze and astound as they not only look realistic in size but also move and sound like the real thing with a phenomenally realistic and artistically landscaped prehistoric jungle setting.

There will also be a host of fun activities for kids to experience, including Dinosaur fossil digging and Dino colouring and drawing, as well as a 30-minute interactive Dinosaur live on stage performance broken into five segments – a Dinosaur Juvenile puppet show, Dinosaur musical theatre and Dinosaur dancing as well as instant photo opportunities. Other activities which are included at a nominal fee include Dino face painting, mini-cars, water roller, paddling boats and loads of dinosaur toys on sale.

Included in the standard main entrance ticket: Jurassic tour 15 dinosaurs; Dino Fossil digging competition; Dino colouring; Dino Dance workshop; Dino Juvenile puppet show; Dinosaur Musical Theatre; Wits University display and Jumping Castle.

Paid Activities include Dino Face Painting; Dino Rides; Dino Instant Photos; Dino Painting workshop; Dino Face Painting; Pedal boats; Motor bikes; 8 Mini cars; Water roller and Dinosaur toys.

Tickets are now available at any Checkers or Shoprite Checkers retail outlet or online through Computicket. Tickets will also be available at the door on the specific days.

Price for adults: R120; Children (2-14 years): R80 (under 2 is free).

Discount for pensioners, on presentation of valid card: R100. Students, on presentation of valid student card: R100. Block bookings of 10 or more: R75.
