EASTERN Cape singer, Dumza Maswana, will perform in the Bay tonight as part of his isiXhosa Acoustic Tour.

The Nguye singer, who previously opened for internationally acclaimed duo Kenny Latimore and Chanté Moore, will be performing in Port Elizabeth today at the Shisa African Restaurant.

Maswana is a singer-songwriter from the small town of Peddie, and has performed alongside artists like Thandiswa Mazwai, Ringo Madlingozi and Simphiwe Dana.

His music displays a strong sense of tradition and religious beliefs.

“It is important that I do not leave my Eastern Cape small-town people behind as I progress. It is important that I go back and play my Molo album for them before I focus on the new material; these are the people that first knew about me before the rest of South Africa and have been supporting me,” said Maswana.

The artist will also be performing in his home town of Peddie, as well as Grahamstown, King William’s Town and East London. For more information, e-mail dumzabookings@mahusiano.co.za or call 073 353 8213.
