Enter now for Mini Maestros competition

2018-05-09 06:00

ENTRIES for the annual South African Society of Music Teachers (SASMT) Mini Maestro Music Competition are now open.

The regional branch of the SASMT will be hosting the music competition at Collegiate Junior School on May 26 from 09:00.

It is aimed at music learners between the ages of five and 13 who are in the beginner, initial and Grade 1 phases of musical tuition.

Each participant will receive a certificate and a report sheet characterised by clear, constructive feedback. Medals will also be awarded to three learners within each category. The SASMT committee encouraged all music teachers from the Nelson Mandela Bay, Cacadu District and the Sundays River areas to enter their budding musicians. Last year more than 200 individuals entered the competition.

The committee is expecting the number to increase this year as the event has become a highlight on the musical calendar.

Admission to the competition is free.
