ONE of the Zwide Football Association’s (Zwifa) oldest clubs, Everton FC, held a function at Bisset Street Park on Sunday to honour its outstanding players and legends and to unveil its new kits for the 2018 league season.

Zwifa deputy president, Bhongo Nombiba, highlighted that the players of Everton FC should work together with their executive committee in order to accomplish their goals.

According to Everton FC president, Zolile Majola, the event was held to motivate the players and juniors for dedicating their time to the sport. “This event is held to give awards to our teams, which are u/11, u/13, u/15, u/17 and seniors, for their efforts during the past season. I am fully convinced that these awards will motivate and encourage our players.

“Furthermore, the new kits that we unveiled today will motivate and boost the morale of our teams.

“We used National Lottery Trust distribution fund resources to purchase these kits.”

The club’s major challenge is finding a field to practice. “We use the Bisset Street Park for training purposes which is very small.”
